DTI also offers design projects to be extended to full PhD programmes. Two to three years are added to the DTI prgram to complete a PhD. The PhD study is a "dissertation on a technological design". The company of the regular DTI project cooperates to finance the PhD extension when the design project is important for the strategic R&D of the company.
The degree is fully equivalent to the typical "scientific" PhD.
