Post-MSc programme
Our society is starting a transition towards sustainable energy provision. With a 30 percent share in the total amount of energy use, the built environment offers opportunities not only to achieve reductions in the use of energy, but also to contribute to sustainable energy provision. The innovations that will drive this transition take place at three levels:
The transition is characterized by innovations on the level of components which find their origin in the disciplines Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. These disciplines are related to the development of new materials and new concepts of energy transformation; by innovations on the level of buildings in which these new products are integrated in totally new building concepts by designers in practice and on the level of districts by innovations in the field of intelligent control and alignment of energy flows in extensive decentralized generation of energy.
This programme is an initiative of Eindhoven University of Technology. The Executive Committee of the KIC Inno Energy, part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, has decided to sponsor this programme. In this context discussions are continuing with ESADE (Business School, Barcelona), UPC (Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona) en KTH (Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm). All three of them are very reputable universities with excellent teachers. Subject of these discussions is the participation of teachers from these institutes in this programme.
